About an hour ago, the city of Mercer Island noted that it has lifted the shelter-in-place alert that it issued yesterday for the 4200 to 4600 blocks of East Mercer Way. A CodeRed emergency alert was sent to impacted residents with this notification.
The shelter-in-place alert for the 7400 to 7800 blocks of Island Crest Way remains in place. Impacted residents will receive notification when it is lifted.
The alerts are due to significant downed power lines, hazardous trees and dangerous debris blocking the roadway as a result of the massive “bomb cyclone” windstorm that hit the region on the evening of Nov. 19.
