Summer Celebration to feature fireworks, live music and more

Summer Celebration is set for July 15 and will feature the return of the community parade to kick off the festivities in addition to live music, art vendors, Penguin Productions short plays, kids’ activities, a reptile tent, community booths, food trucks, the signature fireworks show and more.

The community parade will begin at 10 a.m. along 78th Avenue Southeast. A host of events will occur from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mercerdale Park and from 6-10:15 p.m. at Luther Burbank Park, where fireworks will launch at 10 p.m.

Limited paid parking is available at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center as a fundraiser to support the event. Parking is $30 (pre-event) and $40 (day-of), with proceeds going directly to Summer Celebration festivities.

Shuttles to Luther Burbank Park will be available between 5:30-9 p.m. from Mercer Island City Hall, West Mercer Elementary and Island Park Elementary. Buses will be provided by the Mercer Island School District.
