March 8
THEFT: A suspect was arrested for taking clothing and jewelry from the Mercer Island Thrift Shop at 12:21 p.m., and charged, cited and released.
March 9
PROWLING: A vehicle prowl and theft were reported at 6:17 a.m. in the 3400 block of 74th Place SE.
MORE PROWLING: Two unsecured vehicles were prowled overnight in the 4900 block of E. Mercer Way. A spare key and a mailbox key were taken.
FRAUD: At 12:32 p.m., a woman in the 4300 block of Island Crest Way reported that she attempted to sell her ring through PayPal via Offer Up, but the buyer used a fraudulent account.
ANOTHER PROWL: A car prowl and theft were reported in the 6100 block of 90th Ave. SE at 8:38 a.m. There was no damage to the vehicle.
March 10
MISCHIEF: A victim in the 5600 block of 84th Ave. SE said at 7:34 a.m that their vehicle was keyed, causing $2,000 in damage.
March 12
PROWLING: An unlocked vehicle was reported prowled at 9:29 a.m. in the 4400 block of E. Mercer Way. CDs and a gas card were stolen.
BURGLARY: At 4:27 p.m., police responded to a report that a shed attached to a residence in the 9200 block of SE 33rd Place was forced upon, though nothing appeared to be taken. A pry tool left behind was taken for fingerprinting.
ARREST: King County direct booked a subject with a Mercer Island warrant into SCORE Jail at 11:24 p.m.
March 13
THEFT: A UPS package containing credit cards was stolen at 8:29 a.m. in the 9200 block of SE 46th St. The cards were used to make $5,000 in pending charges.
MORE THEFT: Packages were stolen from a roadside mailbox in the 7200 block of E. Mercer Way at 1:59 p.m.
ANOTHER THEFT: A UPS package was taken from a porch in the 7700 block of SE 22nd St. at 3:03 p.m.
March 23
DRILL: At 10 a.m., the MIPD helped implement a practice evacuation drill at the Stroum Jewish Community Center and French-American School of Puget Sound, closing several roads and driveways in the area.
