MIHS Dinner Theatre returns

Take a break from the dreary, gray days of winter and sail away to Jamaica with the Mercer Island High School production of “Wild Oats of the Caribbean.”

Mercer Island Dreamstate Productions brings to life a dinner theatre adaptation of John O’Keefe’s 18th century farce, “Wild Oats.” A three-course dinner is served up by the actors. Best of all, you are right in the middle of the action during an era when pirates roamed the Caribbean.

Each performance targets a specific audience group. There are student nights, school staff nights, and nights for the general public.

Performance dates:

General public: Jan. 31, Feb. 4, Feb. 7.

Students only: Jan. 30, Feb. 5.

School staff only: Jan. 29, Feb. 6.

Tickets: $25, student and staff nights; $35, general public.

MIPC Concert series headliners

“Groove For Thought,” an exuberant male vocal ensemble, will sing at the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 23. Infectious grooves, stunning arrangements and electrifying solos are just some of the phrases used to describe the Seattle-based vocal group. Since 2000, GFT has brought its unique brand of jazz, gospel and R&B-infused tunes to festival, concert, school and nightclub audiences throughout the United States and Canada. Advanced concert tickets will be available in the church office on Jan. 11, and the recommended donation is $10.
