Celebration
The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition Centennial Gallery Show begins Aug. 3 and continues through Sept. 11, at the Community Center at Mercer View. The event will feature Native Alaskan arts and crafts, as well as the history of AYP and Mercer Island. A Day of Celebration is set for Aug. 16, with a salmon bake, a Native American storyteller, activities for kids and more. Tickets for the salmon bake are now available for pre-sale. National Night Out is Aug. 4
On Tuesday, Aug. 4, neighborhoods throughout Mercer Island will be hosting block parties, cookouts, as well as visits from police and city officials, flashlight walks, contests and other activities for the 26th Annual National Night Out.

Mostly Music in the Park: 7-8:30 p.m., fills the air again this summer on Thursdays, and Sundays at Mercerdale Park. Local bands play a variety of music at the Veteran’s Recognition Pergola.
