Chamber lunch to feature Children’s Hospital leader

Dr. Tom Hansen, M.D., CEO of Seattle Children’s Hospital is the speaker for the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce September membership luncheon. Children’s cares for patients regardless of race, religion, gender or a family’s ability to pay. The luncheon is set for noon, Sept. 4, at the Community Center at Mercer View. The public is welcome to attend. RSVP to 232-3404. Cost is $15 for members, $20 for non-members.

School begins

Mercer Island School District schools open Tuesday, Sept 2.

Between 7 and 9 a.m every weekday morning drivers are advised to take extra care around schools. Watch for children, bus traffic and parents driving students to classes.
