Friends and Family Night at the Mercer Island Thrift Shop is from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 9. There will be hors d’oeuvres and all merchandise is 20 percent off. Thrift store sales all go to benefit Mercer Island Youth and Family Services.

Boys & Girls Club phone-a-thon

The Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club is continuing its annual phone-a-thon today and tomorrow. Money earned will provide funds for scholarships and operating overhead. Those who do not receive a phone call can donate online at: www.positiveplace.org.

WSDOT to talk at Chamber lunch

The Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce luncheon is at noon, March 5, at the Community Center at Mercer View. The luncheon will include speakers from WSDOT who will discuss the I-90 bridge closures in May and July. The first phase of expansion joint replacement project will take place May 4-23, leaving the I-90 express lanes closed around the clock. To reserve your space at the luncheon, call 232-3404.
