The annual Easter Eggs-travaganza takes place this Saturday at Mercerdale Park. The first hunt, for children ages 1 to 6 only, begins at 3 p.m. sharp. Toddlers will have their own section. All participants should bring baskets.

The annual Easter Eggs-travaganza takes place this Saturday at Mercerdale Park. The first hunt, for children ages 1 to 6 only, begins at 3 p.m. sharp. Toddlers will have their own section. All participants should bring baskets.

Older children are welcome to the Flashlight Egg Hunt at 8:30 p.m., also at the park. Bring your flashlight and a basket. Lots of eggs, candy and prizes for everyone.

Leap for Green

The Leap for Green Earth Day Celebration takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 18 at the Community Center. Join your friends for an exciting day of entertainment, hula-hooping, music, art projects, movies and ways to be kinder to the environment. Friends of Luther Burbank Park invites you to start the morning with an Early Bird birding exploration and end the day with a wetlands tour. At bat at the ’Safe

The Mercer Island High School baseball team has been invited to play in the 2009 Mariners High School Baseball Classic. The Islanders will play at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, against Kennedy High School at Safeco Field. Admission is free. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Fans should enter at the main Home Plate gate, and the parking garage is open for $5 per car. A concession stand will be open. For information, contact rawendy@msn.com.
