May 7
Boat accident: Police responded to a boat accident at 4:43 p.m. in the 8300 block of W. Mercer Way. The victim was transported to Overlake Hospital.
May 18
Malicious mischief: Two windows were shattered on both passenger side doors of a car in the 7700 block of E. Mercer Way at 2:31 p.m., but there was no apparent car prowl.
May 19
Fender bender: A 15-year-old subject who was driving her father’s car in the 5800 block of Island Crest Way at 9:27 a.m. rear ended another car, causing damage.
May 20
Burglary: Police received six reports of hand tools, headlamps, a porter cable drill, PVC cutters, impact sockets, proto ratcheting wrenches, a welding jacket, hood and gloves, a hammer and other tools being stolen from temporary storage lockers in a construction site in the 2600 block of 76th Ave. SE from 7:31 a.m. to 10:59 a.m.
Robbery: A male suspect stole a generator in the 7200 block of SE 27th St. at 12:39 p.m. A neighbor observed the incident and went to confront the man after he got in his car. The neighbor stood in the road, and was hit by the car. The man drove away, but the neighbor obtained a partial license plate. A police area check was negative for suspects or vehicles.
Theft: A boy’s iPad went missing at school in the 9100 block of SE 42nd St. at 1:51 p.m.
May 22
Theft: A victim said he left his wallet on top of the air machine at the Sunset Chevron gas station at 11 a.m., and upon returning 20-25 minutes later, it was gone.
Prowling: Someone stole $25 in cash and change from an unlocked car in the 2500 block of 81st Ave. SE at 11:41 a.m.
May 23
Bike theft: A child’s bicycle was reported stolen while left unlocked next to a bicycle rack in the 2000 block of 84th Ave. SE at 1:58 p.m.
Summer bummer: An Island man in the 8000 block of Avalon Drive reported that a stand-up paddle board, assorted paddles, an 8-foot kayak and a water trampoline were stolen at 3 p.m., for a loss of $4,000.
Mischief: A female suspect broke several pieces of glass art in the common area of 77 Central at 11:07 p.m.
May 24
Theft: A woman’s purse, containing cash and credit cards, was stolen from the North QFC parking lot at 10:45 a.m. One credit card was used shortly afterwards.
Burglary: A woman returned to her house in the 6500 block of E. Mercer Way at 5:30 p.m. and discovered that several items, including jewelry, had been stolen.
May 25
Traffic offenses: A driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license in the 9500 block of eastbound I-90 at 12:56 a.m., and was processed, cited and released. The vehicle was impounded.
Found property: A stolen vehicle out of Fife was located in a private, third floor parking lot in the 3000 block of 80th Ave. SE at 9:51 a.m. and impounded to the Mercer Island Police Department, which turned custody over to Fife PD.
More mischief: The rear driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the 9400 block of SE 33rd St. was smashed overnight. Nothing was taken and the interior of the vehicle was undisturbed.
Theft: A man in the 8200 block of SE 72nd St. said his iPad was lost or stolen on May 9.
Animal complaints: A dog bit a FedEx driver’s thumb while the worker was delivering a package in the 2200 block of 66th Ave. SE at 2:54 p.m. The minor injury was treated at an urgent care clinic.
May 26
Theft: A bicycle was reported stolen from the North Mercer Park and Ride at 3:25 p.m.
