Late-night drivers should plan for overnight lane and ramp closures on I-90 over Mercer Island due to construction activities through July 18. Crews working for WSDOT and Sound Transit are adding HOV lanes to the I-90 outer roadway between the cities of Mercer Island and Bellevue. They are also building new I-90 HOV on and off-ramps on Mercer Island and improving I-90 HOV access at Bellevue Way. Drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling in this area and remember to “give ’em a brake” in construction zones.

Travel delays coming to westbound I-90

Late-night drivers should plan for overnight lane and ramp closures on I-90 over Mercer Island due to construction activities through July 18. Crews working for WSDOT and Sound Transit are adding HOV lanes to the I-90 outer roadway between the cities of Mercer Island and Bellevue. They are also building new I-90 HOV on and off-ramps on Mercer Island and improving I-90 HOV access at Bellevue Way. Westbound on I-90 from Bellevue Way to 76th Avenue:

• Crews will close up to two right lanes on westbound I-90 from Bellevue Way to 76th Avenue. Each night, crews will close the first lane at 9 p.m. and the second lane at 11 p.m. Both lanes will reopen by 5 a.m., the following morning.

• Vicinity of the East Mercer Way/I-90 on and off-ramp intersections:

There will also be daytime intermittent lane and shoulder closures in the vicinity of the East Mercer Way/I-90 on and off-ramp intersections between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. During this closure, crews will perform signal work.

SR-520 Bridge tolling open houses

The 520 Tolling Implementation Committee announces the dates for a series of open houses to provide information and get input about how tolls can help pay for a new 520 bridge between Seattle and Bellevue. The meetings will provide information about four tolling options evaluated by the committee, including comparisons of forecasts of bridge funding raised by different toll rates and changes in traffic patterns. The meetings will be held from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a formal presentation at 6 p.m., on the following dates and locations.

• July 29 – Bothell

UW Bothell North Creek Events Center, 11125 N.E. 180th St.

• July 31 – Renton

Spirit of Washington Events Center in Renton, 233 Burnett Ave. S.

• August 5 – Seattle

Naval Reserve at South Lake Union, 860 Terry Ave. N.
