* MI Girl Scouts Toys for Tots Collection will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 10 at Mercerdale Park. They will be collecting new, unwrapped gifts for children in King County through the Marine Toys for Tots program. Gifts for newborns through age 2 and older teens are especially needed.

* Argosy Christmas Ship viewing will take place at 8:40 p.m. on Dec. 18 at the Luther Burbank Park beach. The ship will be decorated with hundreds of shimmery white lights, features choirs on board and sails to about 40 Puget Sound waterfront communities. Parking will be available at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center.

* To celebrate the Hanukkah season, Chabad Mercer Island’s menorah lighting will occur at 5:15 p.m. on Dec. 19 at Mercerdale Park. The event will also feature a 6-foot-tall Lego menorah and an LED light performance.
