Two Foss football players injured at MIHS game

Injuries were not major, according to Foss administrators.

A pair of Foss High School football players sustained injuries during their Sept. 13 game at Mercer Island High School (MIHS) and required medical attention, according to the Mercer Island School District.

The game at Islander Stadium was halted in the final minute of the second quarter, and the contest did not continue.

MIHS administrators contacted Foss administrators, who replied that thankfully it appears that the students are fine and the injuries were not major. They thanked the MIHS athletic director and team for lending a hand with their responses.

“We are very happy to receive this news and we wish both players a speedy recovery,” MIHS administrators noted.

Two ambulances were on site, but it was not confirmed if the players were transported to a local hospital, according to the school district and Mercer Island Police Department.
