Police responded to a residential burglary in the 2400 block of 67th Avenue S.E. No one was home when the burglary occurred between 4:30 and 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26. $80 in cash was stolen along with a gold and sapphire graduation ring, gold Celtic inscribed cross, Swiss Army knife, laptop and 42-inch TV. Fingerprints were lifted from a master bedroom window casing.
A residence was also burglarized in the 6000 block of 90th Avenue S.E. between 1 and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Burglars entered the house through a garage access door and ransacked the home, stealing a flat screen TV, laptop, and Cadillac key fob and key. Fingerprints were lifted from liquor bottles and a living room liquor cabinet. A French door and door frame were damaged, and a brown knit cap was left behind at the scene.

Arrest: Mercer Island police took a 30-year-old Mercer Island man into custody from Tukwila police at 9:16 a.m. on a misdemeanor warrant and booked him into the Issaquah Jail.
Nov. 20
Pile-up accident: A sedan rear-ended a SUV stopped in northbound traffic at 7:50 a.m. in the 6700 block of Island Crest Way. Another vehicle braked for the accident but could not stop in time and struck the sedan, pushing it into the SUV, which then struck a fourth vehicle. All damages and statements matched, and three vehicles were towed. There were no injuries.

Car prowl: A woman’s purse was stolen from the front seat of her boyfriend’s vehicle sometime between 12 and 12:45 p.m. at West Mercer Elementary in the 4100 block of 81st Avenue S.E. The purse contained a checkbook, debit card and cash. The vehicle’s window was broken.
Nov. 22
Drugs: Two Mercer Island teenagers in possession of marijuana and vodka were arrested at 10:29 p.m. at a waterfront park in the 2200 block of 60th Avenue S.E. They turned over a loaded marijuana pipe to police, and were cited and released at the MIPD.
Nov. 23
DUI: Police stopped a vehicle that ran a stop sign without slowing down and arrested the driver, a 28-year-old Seattle woman, for DUI at 12:23 a.m. in the 7400 block of westbound I-90. The woman said she had just left a bar and should not have been driving. She failed standard sobriety tests and refused a PBT.
Arrest: Police arrested a Federal Way man, 31, at 8:53 p.m. in the 8400 block of S.E. 26th Street after a license plate check showed he was driving with a suspended license. A marijuana odor was evident and the driver said he had some marijuana pipes that he had just smoked. He handed over the pipes, and was released at the MIPD.
Arrest: Police stopped a vehicle associated with a $500 King County Sheriff’s Office warrant for third-degree theft and arrested the driver, a 45-year-old Seattle woman, at 7:58 p.m. in the 7600 block of S.E. 29th Street. Police transported the woman to the King County Jail, but she was declined for intake due to high blood pressure. She was taken to Harborview Hospital instead, and released.
Bike theft: Someone stole a bicycle out of an apartment complex storage area in the 3200 block of Shorewood Drive sometime after Nov. 20. The bike had been locked with an independent locking device. Video surveillance was not available.
Arrest: Police arrested an Auburn man, 23, at 3:06 a.m. in the 7600 block of North Mercer Way on several misdemeanor warrants. The man gave a false name, which police discovered through a fingerprint check. He did not have a valid operator’s license, and his driving status had been suspended. He was booked into the King County Jail and cited for local charges.
Nov. 24
Arrest: Police arrested a 53-year-old Mercer Island man at 12:07 a.m. in the 7700 block of West Mercer Way for domestic violence and booked him into the King County Jail. The man assaulted his wife during an argument.
Theft: Two men in their 20s stole a 12-pack of Bud Light beer cans from the gas station in the 2900 block of 78th Avenue S.E. after the sale period at 2:30 a.m. One suspect threw $13.25 into the cash register after being refused the sale, then left the store. Police did not locate the suspects, who initially bought a pack of cigarettes from the gas station.
Nov. 27
Accident: A Nissan Frontier rolled down a small embankment at 2:21 a.m. in the 5300 block of East Mercer Way. The driver, a 22-year-old Federal Way man, was still in the vehicle when police arrived at the scene. Police detected an odor of intoxicants, but the driver said he had not consumed alcohol. After he refused standard sobriety tests, police arrested him and found he was carrying a hand-rolled cigarette with marijuana. He was later released to his father at the MIPD.
Nov. 30
Arrest: Police arrested a 32-year-old Bellevue woman at 12:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of 80th Avenue S.E. on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. The woman had called 911 to report she was disoriented after falling down. When police arrived, the woman said she was looking for the Mercer Island court to pay the fee for her warrant. After being transported to the court, she was released on personal recognizance and was then turned over to Bellevue police on their warrant.
