Island resident, Paul Steven Miller, died at his home on Tuesday evening. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Mechem-Miller and their two daughters. Miller, a highly-regarded professor of law at the University of Washington was the director of the university’s disabilities studies program. Before he came to Seattle, he was a commissioner of the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and served for Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama as an advisor to disability organizations. Mr. Miller, who died of cancer, was born in Queens in 1961, attended the University of Pennsylvania and completed a law degree from Harvard. Services have been held.
