Theft: A resident in the 8400 block of Southeast 69th Place reported that suspects stole her debit card from her purse and attempted to make several transactions in a neighboring city. Police reported that the suspects used a ruse to say the victim dropped money and a suspect put the money into the victim’s purse and snagged the debit card. Video surveillance was obtained of a possible suspect.
Vehicle prowl: Someone smashed a car window and swiped a wallet from inside in the 8000 block of Southeast 32nd Street and then used a stolen credit card.

Vehicle prowl: A resident in the 7800 block of North Mercer Way reported that a vehicle prowler pilfered the victim’s purse and used a stolen credit card.

Theft: Someone stole an electric bike from a parking garage in the 7600 block of Southeast 27th Street.
Sept. 27
Vehicle theft: A vehicle stolen overnight in the 8100 block of West Mercer Way was possibly used in criminal activity in another city. An outside police agency recovered the vehicle the following day.
Fraud: A victim in the 7600 block of Southeast 27th Street was scammed out of more than $20,000 from someone calling and impersonating a crypto currency company employee. After the victim provided his last name and last four digits of his social security number, the victim’s crypto currency account was immediately hacked and drained of the funds.

Theft: A resident in the 7400 block of North Mercer Way reported a mailbox break-in.
Sept. 21
Fraud: A resident in the 9800 block of Southeast 42nd Place reported that their information was used to open a fraudulent bank account in the victim’s name.
