Washington State Board of Education accepting applications for next student representative

The Washington State Board of Education is seeking a current high school sophomore eager to make a difference in the state’s education system by serving as the board’s student representative for the 2025–2027 term.

Interested students can visit the Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL) website to access the application form and learn more about this opportunity at https://awsleaders.org/sbe. Applications are open until March 28, and finalists will be notified by April 7.

“Our student representatives play an important role in the board’s work,” said Bill Kallappa, chair of the state board. “They bring an essential perspective and help ensure we’re creating policies that empowers every student with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive.”
