Betsy Rigsbee and Erik Gordon were married on the Big Island of Hawaii at the Hilton Waikoloa Village Hotel & Resort on Nov. 11, 2011 (11/11/11). The bride is the daughter of Buzz and Bunny Rigsbee, of Mercer Island. The groom is the son of Tad and Winnie Gordon, of Bellevue. The wedding ceremony was performed by the Reverend Dean Kauka of Waimea, Hawaii.
The wedding party included the maid of honor, Aliza Arenson, and bridesmaids Mayan Bomsztyk, Sarah Gordon, Jean McDougall and Ly Tieu. The best man was Sam Chaya, and the groomsmen were Steve Brockett, Mike Clark, Colin Hayes and Shuyler Mowe. The flower girl was Heidi Psoter, daughter of Jean McDougall and Kevin Psoter.
The bride graduated from Mercer Island High in 2000, Barnard College of Columbia University in 2005, and the University Washington Medical School in 2008 as a doctor of physical therapy and now practices at Olympic Physical Therapy in Kirkland, Wash. The groom graduated from Bellevue High in 1999 and from Pennsylvania State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Logistics, and is now the operations manager at Northwest Handling Systems in Renton, Wash.
After a “funny-moon” on the Big Island of Hawaii with their friends and family, the couple took a romantic honeymoon on the Garden Isle of Kauai. They now make their home in Kirkland, Wash., with their devoted dog, Parker.
