With bond approval, MISD schedules public input events

The Mercer Island School District will hold three public input events in March to discuss the three targeted construction projects to address overcrowding in Mercer Island public schools.

With voters approving the school bond proposition in the Feb. 11 special election, the Mercer Island School District will hold three public input events in March to discuss the three targeted construction projects to address overcrowding in Mercer Island public schools.

The events will take place from 1-2:30 p.m. March 6 in the PEAK facility’s multipurpose room, 7-8:30 p.m. March 10 in the Islander Middle School library, and 7-8:30 p.m. March 11 in the Mercer Island High School library.

The three projects included in the school bond proposition were building a fourth elementary school, an expansion of Islander Middle School and an addition at Mercer Island High School. The public input events will offer design updates, proposed zoning changes for all school properties and the opportunity to have questions answered by the project architects as well as staff from the district and city.
