Woman uninjured after falling down embankment

A Mercer Island adult woman was uninjured after falling 30 to 40 feet down an embankment by her home near the 4500 block of East Mercer Way on the afternoon of Feb. 2.

Eastside Fire & Rescue (EF&R) crews received the call from the resident at 2:59 p.m. and rushed to the scene to perform a rope rescue and assist her in getting back up the hill.

According to EF&R public information officer Catherine Breault, the woman was standing about 50 feet from her driveway when she slipped.
