December 16, 1932- March 23, 2024
Beverly Anne Johnson, 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on March 23, 2024. She was born on December 16, 1932 to Franklin and Frances Wilsey in Victoria, B.C. Graduating from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and Sisters of Charity of Providence at St. Paul’s Hospital, she pursued her career as an X-ray Technician.
During a visit to Seattle, Bev met the love of her life, David Johnson. They married in 1961 and enjoyed 62 years together residing in Mercer Island. Their lives were filled with travel, camping, hiking, ice-skating, boating, cross-country and water skiing and golf.
Bev was a woman of many talents. She was a gifted artist, generously sharing her paintings with loved ones, and an accomplished ballet dancer, attending classes until her passing, where she enjoyed time spent with “the girls.” She was an avid figure skater, skilled piano player and participated in marathons.
Bev’s warm, gentle spirit and pure heart brought joy to all who knew her. She was exceptionally generous and had great compassion for all living things. Animals, like people, naturally gravitated to her and she delighted in her backyard “animal sanctuary” of squirrels, bunnies, deer and hummingbirds. Bev enjoyed a life well-lived and well-loved and will be missed dearly.
Bev was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Yvonne and niece Jane. She is survived by cousins Christa Chatfield, Tom and Kathy Jacobson, Randy Jacobson, Barbara Jacobson, Ralphie Jacobson; lifelong friends Peggy Harshbarger and Kathy Riper; and her devoted caregivers Mercy Kamau and Jo Kamau.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 @ 2PM at Encounter Church, 3200 78th Ave SE, Mercer Island.
