October 23, 1934 – October 16, 2023

Carol Sather Lodmell passed away surrounded by loved ones on October 16, 2023. Carol was born at Fort Lewis, WA on October 23, 1934. Growing up as an army brat Carol traveled often and touched the lives of people living in Alaska, New York, Georgia, Maryland, Utah, and Missouri. As a young woman Carol’s travels continued abroad, and she enjoyed time in Norway during a year away from the University of Washington before settling down in Walla Walla and Seattle. Her love of people, culture, and reading transferred into her passion, teaching. Carol taught elementary and junior high on Mercer Island for 27 years. She inspired many children and talked fondly of her career. Carol always enjoyed a good book, laugh, cocktail, debate, and haircut. She will be missed by friends, family, and her children Kristie and Andrew. Below are a few words that insight fond memories of Carol:
