David Edward Sherman, 65, died on November 9th at Overlake Hospital, 8 days after having a massive heart attack at home.

Dave lived on Mercer Island for the past 2 years in the home of Dr. Harry Dingwall, retired Veterinarian.

Dave worked in the rug department at Home Goods in the Issaquah Highlands. He was a member of both the Redmond Kiwanis Club and Kirkland Sunrisers Kiwanis Club since he had lived in Redmond prior to moving to Mercer Island. Dave also helped the Mercer Island Kiwanis Club put up and take down the American Flags at the downtown businesses on all the major federal holidays.

Dave is survived by his beloved sister, Carol Anne Mahoney, and by his parrot, Sparky. In lieu of flowers, Dave’s sister and Kiwanis friends suggest donations to the Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program at Seattle Children’s Hospital or to the Kiwanis Children’s Fund for the Eliminate Project. His Memorial Service will be on Saturday, December 8th at 10:30 a.m. at the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church.
