Deloris June Sparling passed away peacefully on October 14, 2017. She was born on November 25, 1925, in Sterling, Colorado to Hollis Wilson and Margaret Hinrichs.
Deloris graduated from Weatherwax High School in Hoquiam in 1942. She later resided on Mercer Island, and in the Seattle and Redmond areas.
Deloris loved dancing, visiting with friends and family, and playing the penny slots at the casinos. She was fiercely independent until the day she died.
Deloris was preceded in death by her father Hollis Wilson, her mother Margaret (Hinrichs) Louthan, and her step-father Barney Louthan. Deloris is survived by her three children Gwen Moore, Jean Blackstone and Gary Sparling; and also by her four grandchildren Anna-Marie Meade, Natalie Hopkins, Megan Blackstone and Chelsea Blackstone. Deloris is also survived by her sister, Joy Ingstad, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the incredible staffs of Sunrise Senior Living of Mercer Island and Skyline Terraces in Seattle for their loving care of our mother.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 6701 30th Ave SW, Seattle, WA. There will also be a reception following the interment; please contact the family for details. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
