March 13, 1930 – December 10, 2024

Dennis Smart, age 94, of Mercer Island, Washington, formerly of San Jose, California, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Dennis went to Santa Clara University, where he played football and majored in Political Science, where he went on to a career in the computer industry until 1987. Dennis helped raise his six children with his wife LaFaye. After retiring Dennis and Lafaye travelled often and invested. LaFaye passed away in 2009. Dennis continued to live on Mercer Island enjoying church, coffee with his buddies and helping others he saw in need.

He is survived by Brad Smart (Judy), Doug Smart, Cyd Phillips (Dan), Sue-Dee Smart and Darren Smart, 5 grandchildren Melissa (Kemp), Ryan (Elizabeth), Charlie, Caleb and Tyler and 9 great grandchildren Olivia,

Meleah (Melissa), Zachary, Emme (Ryan), Sloane (Charlie), Cole, Caitlin, Caleigh, Cassie, (Caleb).

Dennis is predeceased by LaFaye Smart, his wife of 46 years, and their son, Curt Smart.

Celebration of Life will be on January 18th, 2025, held at: Encounter Church, 3200 78th Ave SE Mercer Island,WA
