Donald Allen Johnson, a Mercer Island resident for 53 years, died on Dec. 30, 2008 of complications due to multiple myeloma.
Mr. Johnson, in his working years, was a partner in Northwest Handling Systems. Following retirement, he volunteered at Swedish Hospital for over 17 years. He was Master of Masonic Lodge #297 and a member of Mercer Island Probus. He was proud of his Air Force service.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Marcia; children, Janis Campanella, Lisa Susen and Marshall Allen Johnson; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jillian, Sam, Stephanie and Ana; and great-grandchild, Madilyn. He is also survived by his brother, Clifford Johnson, and sisters, Mildred Hietbrink and Marilyn Briggs, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church, 3605 84th Ave. S.E. Reception to follow at Women’s University Club, 1105 6th Ave., Seattle.
