Dora Carter Schnad died on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009. She was born on May 15, 1910, and was 99 years old when she passed. She loved and was loved by her family and lived a full, happy life.

Mrs. Schnad was a registered nurse and served in the Army Nursing Corps during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. It was there that she met Morton, her future husband whom she married on Feb. 6, 1945. They were married for 55 years.

Mrs. Schnad was always active in her community, both politically and as a member of the Mercer Island Covenant Church. She was a person of faith who was well liked and will be missed by many. She is survived by her son, Mike; two grandsons, Greg and Phillip, and one granddaughter, Christy.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, at the Mercer Island Covenant Church.
