Dorothy Lenore Hutter of Mercer Island, WA passed away peacefully on June 14, 2011 at the age of 80. Born in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Lydia Beutler on October 25, 1930, Dorothy attended Wright Junior College and was a member of the Beta Omega Chi sorority. She met her beloved husband of 53 years, John Hutter, in Chicago. They moved to Mercer Island, WA in 1962 and lived there together for 47 years. Dorothy loved to travel and meet new people. She was a positive inspiration on everyone around her and maintained incredible optimism throughout her struggle with lymphoma. She was active in the Mercer Island Women’s Club, St. Monica Catholic Church and worked for 12 years as an office administrator for the Mercer Island School District. Dorothy was truly a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, John Edward Hutter, daughter, Jane Ann (Marcel) Pighin and granddaughters, Melissa and Michelle Pighin.
