Beloved mother of David M. Pemberton (Marcia Larsen Pemberton) died peacefully at age 99 in her home on June 29, 2019. She was born Jan. 18, 1920 in El Paso, Illinois. Trudy was a daughter of John McKinney and Isis Campbell McKinney.

She married Stanton Rhodes Pemberton in 1945. They met at the University of Illinois where Trudy was an LAS student preparing for a career of teaching English, which she did in New York state. After their marriage they settled in New Jersey, and in the late 1970s on Mercer Island, WA where Stanton had joined PACCAR as an executive. Always engaged in educational and intellectual issues, Trudy was also a talented cook, musician and hostess.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
