Gloria Gail Seiler (nee Rosenwald) was born on May 4, 1925 in St. Cloud, Minnesota and passed away peacefully at age 91 on January 12, 2017. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she is survived by her four children: Anne (John) Davis, David (Kay) Seiler, Judy (Jeff) Hadlock, and Kim (Kirk) Peterson. Her ten grandchildren knew her as “Grandma Glo”: Allison, Ben, Erik, Britt, Kendra, Marta, Jens, Russel, Wyatt, and Ingrid. She was great grandmother to eight.
Gloria’s childhood was spent in rural Minnesota. While finishing her nursing degree at the University of Minnesota she met Ralph Seiler. They married and moved to Seattle in 1947. In 1951 they moved to Mercer Island where she raised her family and participated in community life. Gloria enjoyed the Pacific Northwest, snow skiing, water skiing, camping and beach combing. She was an avid reader, belonging to three book clubs.
Gloria loved her family, her friends, her church, and coffee! She had a bright and fun loving personality and was proud of her Norwegian heritage. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Seiler.
A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, February 4th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Mercer Island. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
