J. Scott Gobeille died on Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at the age of 53 with his family at his side.

Mr. Gobeille developed a very rare and aggressive form of cancer and was treated with an equally aggressive treatment plan with the best doctors. During his year-long fight, Mr. Gobeille was very courageous and never lost his sense of humor or dignity. He fought the hard fight, and at times we thought that he might be one of the miracles that you hear about. That was the hope that kept us all going. Mr. Gobeille grew to be a great man who continued to enjoy art, music, sports and his family. He was a Boeing employee for close to 30 years.

Mr. Gobeille is survived by his wife of 24 years, Randi; daughter, Rachel, 20; and son, Jake, 17. He was the son of John and Carol Gobeille, of Mercer Island, brother to David and his wife, Carolyn, of Tumillo; Tom and his wife, Lee, of Bellevue; and sister, Suzanne, and her husband, John Hansen, of Mercer Island. He also had 15 nieces and nephews.

Services have been held. Remembrances are suggested to the Swedish Tumor Institute.
