Jay Yanick Jr. (“Little Jay”)

Jay Yanick Jr. (“Little Jay”) was born January 31, 1962 and passed away unexpectedly but peacefully April 25, 2012. Jay was a long time Mercer Island resident and a 1980 graduate from Mercer Island High School. He was an avid sports enthusiast as well as participant. He enjoyed tennis, snow skiing, boating with his dad and being in the outdoors. He couldn’t get enough of sports and enjoyed watching football (Seahawks and Huskies) and Mariners baseball. He just returned from a trip to Arizona to watch the Mariner’s spring training.Jay’s true love however was caring for animals of all kinds. In fact, in 2007 he started his own business called Happy Pets. It started out as a dog walking business and through time he became an ABC Certified Dog Trainer. Survived by his loving parents, Jay and Kay Yanick of Mercer Island, sister, Kim Yanick of Mercer Island and dear friend Marsha Rockett of Bellevue.
