Jeanne Ellen Biehn, a long-time Mercer Island resident and widow of Donald Franklin Biehn, died quietly at the Evergreen Hospice Center in the early morning hours of Nov. 5. Her illness was short, and she died in the company of family and friends. She was born on Feb. 10, 1928.
Mrs. Biehn and her husband moved to Mercer Island in 1951. They raised three boys, David, Steve and Michael Biehn, who all graduated from Mercer Island High School. Among Mrs. Biehn’s primary interests was her involvement with Clipped Wings, serving as the national vice president at one point in her life. She was a volunteer at Swedish Medical Center for over 20 years.
Mrs. Biehn was passionate about spending time with a close group of friends. She was distinguished by her sharp sense of humor. She spent her final years at Pacific Regent Retirement Community in Bellevue. She is survived by her three sons, two daughter-in-laws, five grandchildren and one great-grandson. A memorial service will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Mercerwood Shore Club on Mercer Island. Remembrances are suggested to Evergreen Hospice Center of Kirkland, Wash.
