Kathleen Ann Furulie | Obituary

Kathleen Ann Furulie, née Kramer, of Snoqualmie, passed away on December 18, 2023. Kathy was born on July 29, 1953, at Nelems Memorial Hospital in Snoqualmie, Washington. The daughter of Donald and Georgia Kramer, she grew up in the family home in Ernie’s Grove until she married Gary Furulie in 1974. Kathy and Gary had a home in North Bend for a short while and then moved into a home across the field from her parents. They eventually built their dream home in 1998, with a full view of Mount Si. Kathy loved the view of the mountain. It also gave her a view of Don and Georgia’s house where she kept watch over her parents for many years.

During her life, Kathy enjoyed a variety of jobs and found joy in each experience. Working with her mother at Si View, at Glazier’s clothing store, Snoqualmie Falls Lodge, North Bend Elementary as an assistant for special needs children and at QFC. After raising her three boys, she helped take care of her nephews and nieces, as well as being a nanny for other children in the Valley. Kathy did the bookkeeping for her brother Bill at the Welding Shop for many years and was still doing it when she unexpectedly left us. Kathy gave her heart to caring for and helping others. She was devoted to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, homemaker, and caretaker for her late mother. Just like her mother Georgia, Kathy loved to spend time “thrifting”, especially with her grandchildren. They called it “Treasure Hunting.” She was all about family, she was a dedicated grandmother and active in her grandchildren’s lives.

Kathy strived to be a servant for the Lord and worked hard to help others. Gary and Kathy attended local churches, including New Life Center in Snoqualmie and Valley Christian Assembly in Fall City where they met many lifelong friends in the Lord. Her favorite bible passage was Psalms: 139.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Furulie; children Caycee Furulie, Chad Furulie, and Corey Furulie; brother Bill Kramer; sisters Kristy Warner, Karen Westerlund, Esther McCanta; and grandchildren Gryffin Furulie, Phoenix Wright, Dax Furulie, and Lucy Furulie.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 12pm at The North Fork Farm (https://northforkfarmevents.com/). Kathy will be laid to rest per her wishes in the Snoqualmie Valley near her childhood home.
