Linda C. Dike, age 72, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2016. She fought a long difficult battle with alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency, and did not win.
She was born on November 3, 1943 to Tonya and Lander Haige in St. Petersburg, Florida and attended St. Pete High School. She later went on to obtain her Bachelors at University of Florida.
After college she became a flight attendant for Pan American Airlines, where she met her husband of 30 years, Charles A Dike Jr. They began their life together in Londonderry, NH., and then moved to Mercer Island, Washington and raised their two children, Kristina and Clifford Dike. While raising their two children, she completed her Master’s degree in Education, with a special emphasis on English as a Second Language and went on to become a professor at the local community colleges in the Seattle area. She later moved to Stuart, Florida to be closer to her sister, Diane Baker.
She will be remembered for her generosity to everyone around her; love of travel, history and art; and her goofy but refined demeanor, which made everyone laugh and feel welcome around her.
She is survived by her husband, Ned Killeen, and children Clifford Dike and Kristina Ericsson M.D., as well as Kristina’s family, Gilberto Rodrigo, and grandchildren, Natalie and Sofia Rodrigo.
There will be a celebration of life held in the spring of 2017 in Miami, Florida. For further information, please contact Kristina at krdericsson@hotmail.com.
