“Bud” Johnson, a resident of Mercer Island, WA, passed away at his home on January 6, 2021, with family members present. Bud was raised in Olympia, WA where he attended primary and high school. He later graduated from the University of Washington after which he was immediately called into the service of the U.S. Army. On his return to Seattle, he started a career in commercial advertising. A well-loved man, Bud enjoyed meeting new people from every facet of his life while maintaining old friendships from childhood.
Bud was an avid tennis player, sport fisherman, never missed a Husky football game, was a great cook, and was a talented artist. His incredible talents included painting, carving and woodworking, graphic design, and home renovation.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents Evert and Elsie Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, sons Paul and David, daughter-in-law Karin, grandchildren Larson and Linnea, and his siblings: Marilyn (Lee), Carol (Roland), and Curt (Hazel).
Bud will be sorely missed by his family and many many friends. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
