Natalie Kebsch’s long life spanned two empires, two world wars, two continents and a millennium year. She was born on Sept. 6, 1914, and died on July 13, 2009, nearly reaching 100 years of age. She always loved the water, especially the ocean, so it was somehow appropriate that she lived most of her life in America on Mercer Island and passed away in Gig Harbor within sight of the Sound. Mrs. Kebsch had a marvelous gift of pulling people to her, as those who knew her before her descent into dementia understood. She continued to make people smile and love her, even during her illness.
Mrs. Kebsch was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, at St. Monica Catholic Church.
