Pauline Helen Westphal Winder passed away August 25, 2017. She was 91.
She was a 60-year resident of Mercer Island. Pauline did more in her life than most. She was a nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing Science and a store owner, she raised two sons. Pauline loved to travel and in her life, she traveled to every continent but Antarctica. Despite a congenital heart defect, Pauline was an avid hiker, climber, and skier. She climbed five of the six highest mountains in Washington state. She had a life-long enjoyment of the theater, opera, and symphony. Pauline loved her family and friends and delighted in making new friends.
She is survived by her sons Daniel P. Winder of Kirkland and Douglas A. Winder of Bremerton and by three beloved grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on September 30, 2017 at Mercer Island United Methodist Church, 7070 SE 24th Street. Friends are also invited to the committal service 2:15pm on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042.
