Richard A. Bersos, 51, of Mercer Island, died on Aug. 11, 2009, having fought a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Kate); sons, Christopher and Jonathan; father, Ivar Bersos; and a brother, Robert Bersos.

Mr. Bersos owned Richard A. Bersos Construction on Mercer Island for over 15 years. His specialty was finish carpentering, and because he was a perfectionist, he did beautiful work. His greatest love was his family. He enjoyed friendships with many and had a passion for astronomy and waterskiing. His sense of humor will be missed by all.

Services have been held. Remembrances are suggested to the Mercer Island Youth and Family Services Foundation Counseling Program.
