Roger Allen Shubert

Roger Allen Shubert (71) passed away February 9, 2011 at his home on Mercer Island WA after acourageous fight with cancer. Roger was born in St. Louis, MO to Lester and Jane Shubert. He was a star distance runner who attended the University of Missouri. While in college he met Sandra Enkema and on June 20, 1964 they were married in Berkeley, CA. After living in Kansas City for 3 years, Roger and Sandy moved west to Mercer Island, WA where they started a family welcoming Christina Marie. Roger was an accomplished engineer working for Boeing and a few large construction companies helping build the Washington Mutual Tower and Carillon Point Hotel. He started his own construction company Mercer Construction Services in 1989. He was an elder in the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church and a rotary member. Roger was a devoted husband to wife Sandy, a wonderful father to Daughter Christy & her husband Marc and was an amazing grand-father to his grandchildren Taylor and Cameron. He is survived by 3 sisters, 2 brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of his life Thursday, February 17 at 1:00PM at the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church.
