Victor Arthur Look, 67
Victor “Vic” Arthur Look passed
away on July 28, 2020, at his home
in Bullhead City , Arizona.
Vic was born in Everett,
Washington, August 29, 1952. – the
first of five children of Robert and
Mary Jo Look. In 1953, they moved
to Mercer Island, Washington, where
he grew up – attending St. Monica’s
Elementary School, and graduated
from Mercer Island High School.
As a youth, Vic loved playing sports
– baseball, water skiing, alpine skiing,
boating, and especially fishing. Often,
on Sunday afternoons, the family fun
was going for a picnic by the river
so he and his Dad could catch fish.
Vic always caught the first fish, and
more – he even caught fish when other
fishermen said “they were not biting”.
He never left the river empty-handed.
He also liked hiking with the family –
making lots of noise in the mountains
– in case there might be a bear out
there.
As a young man, and after he had
visited his Grandparents in Southern
California, He realized that he really
liked the hot dry weather. Soon after
that, He moved to the Palm Springs
area, and found work at Palm Springs
Motors – selling Ford cars. He loved
his work, and stayed until the business
was sold.
During this time, He also had
met Debbie, and they were married
December 12, 1978. She was the
“Love of His Life” and he always let
her know how much he appreciated
all she did for him – with her
kind,compassionate heart – and
dealing with his health issues through
all their 41 years of marriage.
At 29 years old, Vic was diagnosed
with Multiple Sclerosis, which
changed his ability to work. He missed
his work, but he never complained.
When he was asked how he was, his
answer was always “Fine” and that
was the final word. He found other
interests – like watching CNBC and
the stock market and he never lost
his love of cars.
In 2007, Vic and Debbie retired to
Bullhead City, Az – enjoying the hot
dry weather together.
It should be mentioned that they
got a little “rescue” dog named Cooper
about a year ago and that he was so
loving to both of them and they to
him. He loved to lay close to Vic when
he sat in his chair (which was most of
the time this last year) and Vic loved
that little “Coop” too.
We all are grateful to Debbie’s
sister Cathie, for coming during Vic’s
last days, as a caregiver to Debbie
so she could spend more time with
Victor. Particularly, because his family
could not be there because of the
“pandemic”. Everyone would have
had to fly and couldn’t at that time.
We were fortunate that Kathy, Paul,
and Dad and Mom visited him the first
week in March when his health really
started to go down. Then he was some
better – until the last few weeks before
he died.
Victor is survived and deeply
missed by his wife, Debbie. His
parents, Bob and Mary Jo, His
sister, Kathy Catugal, of Wailuku,
Maui, Hawaii, sister, Debbie and
her husband Russell Mallams of
Whitefish, Mt., and brother, Paul Look
of Bellevue, Wa. Sister-in-law, Shelley
Look of Redmond, Wa., Sister -in-law,
Catherine Hakker of California, and
many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
Victor was preceded in death by
his younger brother, Matthew Look.
