Vincent Moore passed away peacefully on April 28, 2017 surrounded by his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was 102 years old at the time of his passing. He was a loving husband, devoted father and great friend to so many people. He was an engineer and always loved fixing whatever was not working. He was intelligent and analytical and a great problem solver. He was always there to help when help was needed. He loved life and his greatest gift that he gave to all those in his life was his love. He was a gift to everyone whose life he touched.

Vincent knew from an early age that he wanted to be an aeronautical engineer. He earned his way into the Cooper Union Institute of Technology in New York City by his performance on the admission exams. He graduated on June 4, 1936 with a Mechanical Engineering degree and went to work for Curtiss Wright Corporation in Paterson, New Jersey. He worked designing aircraft engines. He loved analyzing problems and finding the solutions to fix them. He went on to earn a Master of Science degree from the Stevens Institute of Technology. After 22 years at Curtiss Wright, he went to work for the Boeing Company in 1961. Toward the end of his career, he worked for American Sterilizer Corporation as their Director of Engineering.

Vincent met his beloved wife, Grace, at Curtiss Wright where she was working as a test engineer during World War II. They were married in 1944. They had three children, David, Geoffrey and Sarah. He was a devoted father, who cherished his family and would do anything to help and support them.

Vincent is a longtime member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Mercer Island. Many of his lifelong friendships were forged within that church community, and at Covenant Shores where he resided. He volunteered his time and talents to Emmanuel Church and Covenant Shores. He was the treasurer at the church and served as President of the Resident’s Council at Covenant Shores.

Vincent is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Grace, and his son David. He is survived by his daughter Sarah Bostwick and her husband Tom Bostwick, his son Geoffrey Moore, his grandchildren Colin Moore and Michelle (Moore) Stimler and her husband Tony Stimler, and his great grandchild, Chase.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 4400 86th Avenue SE, Mercer Island, WA, with the burial immediately following in the Memorial Garden behind the church. The reception will be at the church.
