I found it ironic that Ira Appelman sent out letters to the citizens of Mercer Island — cloaking his name and agenda in secrecy by using the return address of “Mercer Island Community Council.”

The return address implies an official council of community people acting on behalf of all Island residents.

Mr. Appelman’s letters accuse the city of secrecy and misconduct — the exact conduct he used to send the letters.
