I see arguments being made in support of MICA, which state the center is a better alternative to the dilapidated recycling center currently there. That cannot be the argument. This is public land.
The City Council should be charged with finding the best use of the land — not just something better. Obviously, to some MICA is the best solution. But please don’t argue that it should exist just because it is better than the recycling center. That is a very low bar.
