A hat trick from junior Eric Dreyer led Mercer Island past Juanita in a 6-2 win Tuesday night at Islander Stadium.
Dreyer’s first goal gave the Islanders (4-0-1, 2-0-0 in KingCo) a 2-1 lead in the 35th minute before Juanita (1-4-1, 1-1-1) evened the score just before the break. Mercer Island scored four second-half goals to pull away, with Dreyer finding the back of the net in the 47th and 57th minutes.
Jack Delay, Noah Talerman and Austin Taylor also scored a goal each for Mercer Island, while keeper Matt LeProwse had four saves.
Next, Mercer Island will take Lake Washington (2-3-1, 2-0-1) at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Lake Washington High School. The two teams occupy the top two spots in the 2A/3A KingCo standings.
