Mercer Island High School (MIHS) senior-to-be Ethan Evans notched his second consecutive Washington Junior Golf Association boys state championship on Aug. 3-5 on the par-72 Glendale Country Club course in Bellevue. He shot eight under par for three rounds (71-67-70-208) to accumulate 100 points in the age 16-18 competition. Evans, who plans to play college golf at Duke University, had 14 birdies during his three rounds. Peter Dionne-Yahr of Kent took second with a mark of 66-73-73-212 for 90 points.
