Mercer Island’s Gabby Frederick has qualified for her fourth trip to the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) National Finals, which will take place from April 26-30 at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Tryon, North Carolina.
The Mercer Island High School (MIHS) freshman placed first in the individual hunt seat upper school over fences event at the recent IEA Zone 9 competition in Lynden. Gabby will compete in that event at nationals along with joining her Sharkey Farm team in the upper school four on the flat event. The Snoqualmie-based upper school squad took first in its division at zones.
Fellow MIHS freshman and Sharkey Farm teammate Harper Hood also placed first at zones and will compete individually at nationals.
