Northwood Elementary School student Mikhail Zulaev won gold and bronze medals on Nov. 24 at the President’s Cup Judo tournament in Irving, Texas. The event was organized with the participation of the USA Judo Federation. The Mercer Islander participated in two weight categories: boys born in 2015 Bantam 5 under 33 kg, where he won the gold medal; and boys born in 2014, Bantam 6 under 35 kg, where he won the bronze medal.
