Cole Drayton and Garrett Rogan scored two touchdowns each in Mercer Island High School’s 38-6 football victory at Stadium High School on Sept. 24.
The Islanders, who are 1-0 in 3A KingCo and 3-1 overall, will next play at Bellevue High School on Oct. 1.
Drayton scored on a 22-yard fumble return and on a 4-yard pass from quarterback Eli Fahey. Rogan scored on 18- and 26-yard passes from Fahey. The Islanders added two-point conversions after Rogan’s touchdowns on Addison King and Jack Durner passes from Fahey.
In other Islander scoring action, John Mangino tallied on a fumble return, and Tommy Frink nailed a 26-yard field goal and one PAT.
Fahey was 13-for-21 for 130 yards and Spencer Kornblum was 5-for-9 for 57 yards, and Durner snagged seven passes for 54 yards.
Defensively, Frink had three solo tackles and one sack, and Drayton, Luke Myklebust and Brycen Powell had two solo tackles each; Drayton and Powell added one sack each.
