The Mercer Island FC Boys U15 Heat team won the North Puget Sound League championship Dec. 11, defeating the Whatcom Rangers 6-1 at Islander Middle School.

The MIFC Heat compiled a record of 10-1-1, scoring 58 goals while allowing only 10.

“This year the boys again have shown strong consistency not only winning the majority of the games, but also shown tremendous improvement on the field,” said second-year coach Ozzy Erkut. “I am very proud of each boy’s accomplishment within the team environment.”

MIFC U15 Heat team members include Michael Ivanov, Cameron Kaszycki, Benjamin Molina, Enzo Bom, Noah Hendelman, Benjamin Flaherty, Kalvin Lee, Andres Lam, Jaden Krauser, Joseph Cookson, Aodhan Roche, Jacob Chansky, Onur Gazioglu, David Smoots and Zachary Muzio.
