The Mercer Island girls water polo traveled to Lakes High School in Tacoma on Wednesday, May 15 for the first round of the state tournament.
The Islanders earned a spot in the bracket on Friday after winning both games on Wednesday.
The team started with a match against Auburn Riverside, winning 14-0. In the second game of the day, the Islanders faced Lakes, winning 14-2.
Mercer Island moves into the next round of the tournament, playing on Friday, May 17 in a 4:10 p.m. game at Curtis High School.
